Pawtraits

My name is Lara Willan and I am a teacher of Design Technology in a large comprehensive school in North Yorkshire. I am also a wife and a mother of two 'delightful' children, or should I say, young adults.

I discovered my talent for drawing pet pawtraits a few summers ago during a very wet afternoon on holiday. I drew my parents' cats and posted them on Facebook. Since then, I have had a steady stream of requests to draw other pets.

I use coloured pencil crayons and I am fiercely loyal to the discontinued Karisma pencils; they have a soft blendable quality that I have been unable to find in any other brand.

I spend any free time I have being creative or pottering in the garden.
